On November 14, 2017, official opening after the modernization of the MRI scan and the CAT scan laboratory of the University Children Hospital was held. New laboratory devices were put into use.
New equipment means faster diagnostics for our patients, which will be even more accurate than before, prof. Anna Wasilewska, director of the hospital said. Great importance was placed on making the devices child-friendly. The CAT scan is stylized for a rocket expedition into space and MRI scan welcomes into the underwater experience with funny fish and turtles . Professor Wasilewska has stressed that for the children as important as the medical treatment is the child’s attitude to the hospital setting.
This investment is one of the elements of the National Network of Traumatology Centers for Children (CUD). Modernization was financed from the European Regional Development Fund (PLN 7.6 million) and the Ministry of Health (PLN 1.35 million).
The Children's Hospital Clinic is a full-service facility for children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 years. About 20 thousand patients are hospitalized every year. In 15 outpatients clinics of the University Children Hospital almost 140 thousand of small patients get help and treatment.
