Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in the United States and is celebrated each year on the fourth Thursday in November.

Now a days Thanksgiving means a lot to people in a lot of different ways, for some it's just an ordinary day, for others it's all about the millions of Turkey's that are killed so we can all feast.

Us though for example; for us it is a holiday meant to bring family together and truly be thankful for them and the blessings we encountered throughout the year. Family to us does not stop at relatives, family is who you invite into your heart, your close friends, the people you care about. It is easy to focus on negativity but It is a nice change of pace to look back on the year and think about all the good that has happened, to realize all those small things add up, and that is why we celebrate our own little Thanksgiving every year here in Bialystok Poland. We gather our family from around the world (America, Canada, Poland, Ireland, Great Britain, Somalia, Italy Germany, etc etc) America is a melting pot, the world is a melting pot.

Thanksgiving is where we can forget about the stress we face on a day to day basis and just be around the people we love, eating good food that we spent the day making and just being thankful for where we are in life. Funny if you think about that this all began all those years ago simply as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year.
