The Medical University of Bialystok, as the only Polish university, has won a prestigious grant for conducting doctoral studies in the COFUND competition as part of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions of the Framework Program of the European Commission, Horizon 2020.
The aim of the COFUND competition is to stimulate regional, national or international programs, to support the training of improvement, mobility and career development of researchers at every stage of their career. Projects implemented under COFUND programme are aimed at co-financing international, intersectoral and interdisciplinary doctoral programs or scholarship programs for experienced researchers. Each project financed under the COFUND program has one participant selected during the competition, who is responsible for its proper implementation and financing. These are long-term and expensive projects.
Over 130 young scientists from all over the world participated in the completed recruitment process (USA, Italy, India, South Africa, China, Belarus, Germany, Lithuania, Ethiopia, Denmark, Malaysia, Mexico, Spain and many others).
In the end, 15 best PhD students were selected for 4-year doctoral studies. They come, among others, from: Denmark, India, Indonesia, Turkey, USA, Hungary, Vietnam and Italy. Young scientists will run individual research projects.
