A demonstrative surgery for the correction of pediatric scoliosis with the use of growing magnetic rods was carried out at the Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic of MUBCCH by professor Annalise Noelle Larson from the USA.
The professor is a world-renowned specialist in children's orthopedics. She works at the world's leading Mayo Clinic orthopedic surgery center in Rochester. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, and completed her internship in orthopedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She also graduated from Edwards Fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas.
After a scoliosis operation at a 10-year-old girl at the MUB Children's Clinical Hospital, professor Larson gave a lecture for doctors and students entitled "New Trends in Pediatric Surgery and Scoliosis Care in the US".
