A multidisciplinary team of experts from the Bioskaner company (a company founded by the Medical University of Bialystok) has already accomplished over 1000 highly specialized tests on one of two PET / MR devices in Poland that allows a full-body scan.
Therefore, in the Białystok Science and Technology Park, where this world's most modern medical equipment is located, the management of the MUB subordinate company summarized the important stage of these innovative patient tests. MUB Vice-Rector for Science, prof. Marcin Moniuszko (who is the president of the LOMIRT company running the Bioskaner diagnostic imaging studio) presented the possibilities of the device from the point of view of the doctor and the patient. Dr Małgorzata Mojsak, a specialist in Nuclear Medicine, discussed the advantages of a PET / MR device over ordinary magnetic resonance. She presented the advantages of the device in the early detection of cancer (including lung, prostate or head), but also examples of cancer exclusion due to the scan of the patient's body. The deputy director of the Białystok Science and Technology Park, Paweł Kramarz, said that the cooperation of the city, MUB and BSTP is a model example of good cooperation and promotion of modern medicine in Podlasie.
The company has been working for 3 years, during which PET / MR examined over a thousand patients, from the region, the country and abroad.
