The prizes were awarded in 8 categories: visionary of the year (main prize), visionary of the system, visionary of science, visionary solutions in medicine (in this category MUB's Center of Artificial Intelligence has won), visionary personality, social activist, visionary educational and preventive program and vision in Polish medicine. The council of the contest appreciated the UMB's vision of the development of artificial intelligence in medicine. On behalf of the Medical University of Bialystok, the prize was collected by prof. Marcin Moniuszko Md, PhD, Vice-Rector for Science.
MUB is one of the few institutions in the world that collects unique data, especially concerning oncological diseases, including research on all genes, image diagnostics, detailed analysis of the patient's lifestyle and environment. Research teams consisting of doctors, diagnostics and bioinformatics specialists are looking for new solutions of artificial intelligence. This will enable in the future the most modern diagnostics and treatment as part of personalized medicine.
The "Health Visionary of 2019" contest was organized by the weekly magazine "Do Rzeczy" under the patronage of the Ministry of Health. Many outstanding representatives of Polish medicine took part in the ceremony.
