Medical University of Bialystok has an agreement with the University of Osijek in Croatia. It concerns the joint conduct of doctoral degrees in the field of medical and pharmaceutical sciences. The agreement was signed for 5 years, with the possibility of extension.
As a result of the agreement, PhD students of doctoral studies run jointly by MUB and the University of Osijek can have a co-promoter from the Croatian University.
The agreement defines the responsibilities of both sides in the field of joint PhD studies. The defense of doctoral dissertations will be carried out by a joint commission of both Universities, composed of not less than 7 and not more than 9 university teachers of both Universities.
The University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek was founded in 1975. The University consists of eleven faculties (among others, the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Nutrition Technology, Engineering Faculty, Faculty of Civil Engineering), five departments and the Academy of Arts. The university employs approximately 800 academic staff and educates over 18 000 students. It is authorized to confer doctoral degrees in the fields of medical, pharmaceutical, natural and interdisciplinary sciences.
