    MUB has concluded a bilateral agreement with the University of Pecs and the Szentágothai Research Centre

    The Medical University of Bialystok has concluded a bilateral agreement with the University of Pecs (PTE) and the Szentágothai Research Centre (SzRC). The agreement has been concluded for a period of 3 years. This is the seventh cooperation agreement signed since the beginning of 2019.

    Before signing this agreement, the Medical University of Bialystok has already actively cooperated with these two entities, among others, under the cooperation agreement regarding the ImPRESS project “International, interdisciplinary doctoral studies in the field of medical biology and biostatistics”. The new bilateral agreement extends the scope of this cooperation to new areas.

    The bilateral agreement relates to cooperation in the field of teaching, research, development of young staff through joint projects and activities, including in the scope of: improving the mobility of scientists and doctoral students; providing access to research facilities; facilitating joint scientific projects; participation in joint grant projects regarding common interests in the field of research, education and scientific cooperation; exchanging information and initiating conferences, lectures, symposia and workshops.

    The above goals will be implemented via the following activities:

    - exchange of faculty and researchers to conduct joint research, teaching and support of continuous education;

    - exchange of students and graduate students for training purposes and scientific management related to the preparation of dissertations or conducting joint research;

    - exchange of educational, methodological and scientific materials, as well as information on the educational process and research work,

    - joint participation in the COST programme (European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research). The network established under the COST project will focus on improving cooperation and exchanging information and resources in the field of chronic primary pain.

    The University of Pecs has a very long history. The beginnings of the establishment of the university date back to 1367. Currently, over 20,000 people study at 10 faculties, making it one of the largest universities in Hungary. Over 1400 lecturers and scientists work at this Hungarian university. The university has a very high degree of internationalisation, as the number of foreign students is over 4000, coming from 114 countries around the world. Most of the students come from Iran, China, Jordan, Turkey and South Korea. Internationalisation is one of the university's strategic priorities. PTE offers over 50 study programmes (BSc, Ms, MA, PhD) and courses in English.

    The Szentágothai Research Centre (SzRC) is the most important scientific centre of this Hungarian university which supports research and development activities. Its purpose is to develop research in the field of medical biology, natural sciences, engineering and IT, as well as to strengthen national and international cooperation. The institute employs 200 scientists gathered in 21 research groups. The Centre also actively participates in the education of young people and supports young scientists.
