Dr Agnieszka Dudzik and Dr Justyna Sierakowska from Department of Foreign Languages participated in a training course entitled TTP + Academic Writing and Presentation Skills at the Galway Cultural Institute in Ireland from 19-23 August 2024.
The training was aimed at teachers of English in higher education institutions who, in their work, are concerned with developing the academic language skills necessary for participation in academic activities in an international environment. The aim of the training and the accompanying workshops was to enhance the knowledge and skills of teaching staff in intercultural, interpersonal and linguistic competences that facilitate and enhance the effectiveness of communicating in English in an academic context, thus helping to teach effective scientific communication in English. During the training programme, particular emphasis was placed on improving teaching competences in intercultural communication and conference speaking, as well as academic writing in English.
The knowledge and practical skills gained during the training will be used in the training of the participants of the MUB Doctoral School in the subject Specialised English: developing academic language skills.
