    REGULATIONS FOR CLASSES IN THE COURSE OF INTERNAL MEDICINE - CARDIOLOGY

    CARRIED OUT IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CARDIOLOGY OF THE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF BIALYSTOK (UMB)

    FOR STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE, 6TH YEAR

    1. Classes are held according to the schedule established by the Dean of the Medical Faculty of  the Medical University of Bialystok and the curriculum approved by the Faculty Council.
    2. The student is obliged to comply with health and safety, fire and sanitary and epidemiological regulations. The above regulations are published on the Department's website. Classes at the Department of Cardiology include obligatory participation in exercises and seminars.
    3. Classes begin at 8.00 (internal medicine training block), 11.45 (seminars on practical solving of clinical problems) and at 8.00 (selected clinical subject - cardiology). Classes are held according to the schedule provided. Seminars on practical solving of clinical problems are held online on the Blackboard platform.
    4. Bags and other personal belongings should be left in the student cloakroom.
    5. During all classes it is obligatory to change shoes and wear medical uniforms.
    6. During the classes, each Student should have a stethoscope and an identifier/badge containing the name and surname and the term 'student'.
    7. During all classes (exercises, seminars, lectures) mobile phones, notebooks, laptops and other electronic devices must absolutely be turned off.
    8. It is not allowed to take photographs and record presentations and lectures on other media, under risk of disciplinary consequences. The prohibition of photographing applies in particular to taking pictures of patients.
    9. The student is obliged to observe professional secrecy. Any documentation concerning the patient (in written or electronic form) kept and performed during classes must be devoid of personal data and other information enabling the patient's identification.
    10. During the classes, Students are not allowed to leave the Department without the knowledge and consent of the person conducting the classes.
    11. The student is obliged to participate in classes with the student group to which he was assigned at the beginning of the academic year.
    12. Presence at all classes is obligatory. The student is obliged to come to classes on time. Persons who are late may not be allowed to participate in the classes, which may mean unexcused absence.
    13. In the event of excused absence (sick leave, dean's leave) a relevant certificate must be provided to the person conducting the exercises within 7 days from the end of the sick leave period. Documents delivered after this date will not be honored.
    14. In the event of an excused absence - there is an obligation to make up for the classes after prior arrangement with the teaching assistant or assistant professor. It is possible to make up for exercises in case of excused absence of up to 3 days. Absence from classes should be made up for within 14 days from the end of the exercise block. The student is obliged to catch up on his own and obtain a credit from the assistant conducting the exercise block. Excused absences above 3 days can be individually considered by the Head of Department.
    15. The student has the right to access the written assignments within 2 weeks from the end of the classes.
    16. The student is informed orally about the results of his written work and the final grade directly from the assistant.
    17. A student may obtain a credit for the classes and the course credits only during the academic year.
    18. The student has the right to consult with the person conducting the exercises outside the class hours after making an appointment with the assistant.

    19. The form and conditions of passing the block of classes - meeting the following conditions:

      1. Students are required to prepare theoretical knowledge for each class. The condition for passing the exercises is attendance at all exercises and seminars.
      2. The method of completing individual exercises - oral classes (discussion during classes, observation of the student's work, assessment of activity during classes).
      3. The method of completing seminars on practical solving of clinical problems - oral or repetition of the material.
      4. In the event of failure to complete the classes - re-crediting within 14 days from the end of the exercise block is possible.
      5. Completion of the exercise block must be documented with a sign of the assistant in the student's workbook. Lack of the sign within 14 days is means the failure to complete the block of classes. On the day of the credit, submit the skill booklet to the assistant in order to obtain the signature of the medical procedures done and seen within the block of classes.
