    MUB obtained another patent

    The Patent Office of the Republic of Poland has granted another patent for an invention developed in cooperation with the Medical University of Bialystok and the University of Bialystok.

    The authors of the patent are scientists from the Department of Paediatrics and Nephrology of the Medical University of Bialystok - prof. dr hab. Anna Wasilewska and dr hab. Tadeusz Porowski. From the University of Bialystok, the research workers of the Faculty of Physics took part- prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Szymański, dr hab. Andrzej Andrejczuk and mgr Łukasz Łabieniec.

    The patent was granted for a device designed to measure the degree of turbidity of liquids. The advantages of the patented measuring system are precise results and low costs. Another innovation of the solution is a different method of detection of solution turbidity compared to the traditional method. The invention may find application in laboratory diagnosis of kidney and urinary system diseases, as well as in other fields of science and technology, e.g. for water quality assessment.
