On May 26-28, 2022 in Białystok will be the 17th. Congress of the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine. The main topic of this year's meeting of scientists dealing with diagnostics and radioisotope therapy will be nuclear theranostic. The conference of nuclear medicine will be attended by scientists and clinicians from leading centers in Poland and abroad.

The Medical University of Bialystok has the most modern diagnostic and radioisotope treatment facilities. The heart of the Bialystok Science and Technology Park is Molecular Imaging Laboratory which has a unique, one of two in Poland, hybrid PET-MR scanner. The MUB Clinical Hospital Nuclear Medicine Department in terms of equipment standards (including modern SPECT-CT hybrids) is not inferior to the world's best centers.

Nuclear theranostic - the leading topic of this year's Congress - is a close combination of imaging diagnostics and radioisotope therapy in order to select the treatment for a specific patient (personalized therapy) - effective and safe at the same time, says prof. Janusz Myśliwiec, head of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the Medical University of Bialystok, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of XVII PTMN Congress.

Leading experts from leading Polish centers and specialists from abroad were invited to present the lectures during the 17th Congress of the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine, including: prof. P. Słomka (Los Angeles, USA), prof. C. Halldin (Stockholm, Sweden), prof. W. Brenner (Berlin, Germany), prof. A. Chiti (Milan, Italy), prof. J.N. Talbot (Paris, France), prof. M. Luster (Marburg, Germany) and prof. K. Herrmann (Essen, Germany).
