    Dr. Julia Maria Nowowiejska won a grant in the MINIATURA 6 competition

    Dr. Julia Maria Nowowiejska from the Department of Dermatology and Venerology of the Medical University of Bialystok received a grant of 33,444 PLN for the project entitled: "Assessment of the concentration of proteins from the gasdermin family in the blood and urine of patients with psoriasis" as part of the competition of the National Science Center MINIATURA 6.

    The proposed scientific action may provide valuable new information on the pathogenesis of psoriasis, which has been a constant subject of scientific research and still remains to be understood. Gasdermins will be investigated in the context of the potential correlation with the severity of skin lesions, inflammatory parameters, liver and kidney function, and thus - prediction and monitoring of the severity of psoriasis and its comorbidity, which has a significant impact on clinical practice.

    Dr Julia Nowowiejska is a graduate of the Medical Faculty of the Medical University of Bialystok (2018). In 2021, she obtained a doctoral degree in medical sciences on the basis of a doctoral dissertation on sleep disorders in patients with psoriasis. Her total scientific output consists of 42 scientific papers with a total value of IF = 53.76 and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education = 1626 points ( in 32 of them dr Nowowiejska is the first author). In total, Julia Nowowiejska published 16 original papers, 14 review papers, 11 case reports and 1 letter to the editor.
