    Genomics

The Clinical Research Centre and Department of Endocrinology, Diabetology and Internal Medicine at MUB conducts several research projects using genomic analysis which allows for identification, measurement and comparison of such genomic features as DNA sequence, structural variation, gene expression, or transcription of a regulatory mechanism. The following projects could be conducted by PhD students: a) Development of personalized cancer medicine based on integrated genomic, transcriptomic and epigenomic analysis; b) Searching for prospective and early biomarkers of type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes or obesity with the use of next generation sequencing; c) Pathway analysis of metabolic syndrome using integrated genomic approaches; d) Integration of genomic analysis of microbiome for uncovering biomarkers of cancer.

PhD students will be involved in sequencing experiments as well as bioinformatics analysis of next generation sequencing data. Moreover, they will learn how to integrate complex omics data providing insight into disease processes.
