As part of the project "Now I understand - a series of educational videos", the Medical University of Bialystok invites everybody to a series of short videos explaining popular medical and pharmaceutical issues. This project received funding from the state budget under the Social Responsibility of Science- Popularization of Science and Promotion of Sport program.

As part of the project, 6 educational videos are created. The topic of the one of them has been choosed by the audience.

As a result of an online plebiscite conducted on March 22-30, 2023, out of the 3 proposals for the topic of the last video of the series (to choose from: Laboratory tests in practice, What you should know about immunology, The basics of modern Physiotherapy) the most, which is 38% of Internet users, voted for "Laboratory tests in practice”.

We present the sixth episode of the series "Now I understand - a series of educational videos" entitled Laboratory testing in practice. Laboratory tests play a huge role among all elements of diagnosing patients. The usefulness of laboratory test results in diagnosing internal diseases is as high as 60%. During the video, viewers will learn, among others: how to properly prepare for laboratory tests of blood, urine and faeces and how to collect biological samples for testing. We present basic information about the specificity of biochemical, immunological, hematological and microbiological testing.
