TEACHING REGULATIONS
- Classes in Genetics are conducted in the form of lectures, practical sessions, and seminars (depending on the study program), either in-person or online. Regardless of the format, attendance must be confirmed personally.
- Absences from lectures must be justified immediately after the reason for the absence ceases to exist, within a non-extendable period of seven days.
- Absence due to health reasons – medical certificate required.
- Absence due to random events or social activities – certificate issued by the responsible institution required.
- A justified absence from a lecture is treated as a missed class. An unjustified absence results in disqualification from the final assessment.
- To make up for a missed practical session, the student must attend the same session with another group (after agreeing on the form and date with the assistant). If this is not possible, the student is required to demonstrate the relevant skills during the pre-assessment test.
- Conditions for taking the final assessment:
- Attendance at all scheduled classes.
- Completion of all tasks and requirements for each class.
- The basis for passing the course is a written test. To pass, a minimum of 60% of the total points must be obtained. During the test, the use of unauthorized aids is strictly prohibited (in accordance with Order No. 26/2025 of the Rector of the Medical University of Białystok dated February 17, 2025). Students will be informed of their results via email, in compliance with data protection regulations. Students have the right to review their test papers at a time agreed upon with the Head or Assistant of the Department. Students who fail the test on the first attempt may retake it during the second (make-up) and final attempt. Students who were absent during the test must submit a certificate stating the reason for their absence (in person or via email) within a non-extendable period of two days. Failure to submit the certificate will result in disqualification from the assessment.
- Students attend classes in groups according to the schedule published on the UMB website and the Blackboard platform.
- Students are required to arrive on time for classes.
- During classes or breaks, students are allowed to remain in the lecture hall.
- Eating and drinking are permitted only in the hallway; consumption in the lecture hall is strictly prohibited.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited within the building.
- In case of any doubts regarding the course of lectures or emergencies, students should contact the assistant and, if necessary, refer the matter to the Head of the Department.
