    Regulations

    1. Ophthalmology classes are conducted in two-week blocks in accordance with the schedule and topics published on the Department of Ophthalmology website. For seven days, students attend classes at the University Clinical Hospital (USK), and for three days at the University Children’s Hospital (UDSK).
    2. Adult ophthalmology classes are conducted in an on-site format. Seminars are held over two days in the form of distance learning (online) using the Blackboard educational platform. The detailed schedule is available on the website.
    3. The order of topics within a given group depends on the assistant and may be modified.
    4. Attendance at all classes is mandatory. Unexcused absences are not permitted. The rules for excusing absences are regulated by the Study Regulations. Each excused absence must be made up. The form of making up missed classes must be agreed upon with the assistant.
    5. Classes at USK conclude with a final assessment conducted by the assistant in oral or written form. Students are informed of the results directly by the assistant. In the case of a written assessment, students have the right to review their work.
    6. A prerequisite for admission to the examination session is attendance at all classes and obtaining a positive grade for the block assessment.
    7. The final ophthalmology examination takes the form of a multiple-choice test and is conducted after completion of all classes and lectures. There are no early examinations and no exemptions from the exam. Results are available within 14 days from the examination date. Students have the right to review their exam papers in the presence of the head of the unit or a designated representative. Examination papers are stored for three years. In the event of failing the first exam attempt, the student is entitled to two retake examinations in the same format as the initial exam. Failure to attend the exam or retake exam without valid justification (as regulated by the Study Regulations) results in a failing grade.
