    General description


    MUB is a modern, dynamically developing public University with a mission to serve society through the innovative education of professional medical staff, conducting scientific research, development and implementation work at the highest international level, and the development of clinical activities in line with the progress of medical knowledge. MUB contributes to large-scale research on genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, radiomics and bioinformatics. In the course of implementing unique research projects in the field of personalised medicine and lifestyle diseases, we built a database, remarkable in the European perspective, containing the results of WGS for several hundred patients with oncological and other lifestyle diseases. MUB pioneers in the field of advanced banking of biological material from patients with lifestyle diseases. The collected data are fed to the Polish HD Medicine Database, designed as a source of in-depth understanding of the mechanisms of such diseases as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic diseases and more, and as groundwork for the development of new therapeutic applications.

    MUB has ultra-modern research and teaching base, which includes, i.e., 2 University Clinical Hospitals, Euroregional Pharmacy Center, Didactic and Scientific Center of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Clinical Research Center, Experimental Medicine Center, Innovative Research Center, Bioinformatics Center and Data Analysis, Molecular Imaging Laboratory, Medical Simulation Center and Centre of Artificial Intelligence.
