The MUB is a modern, dynamically growing public university with a mission to serve the society through innovative education of professional medical staff, conducting scientific research, development and implementation work at the highest international level, and the development of clinical activities in line with the progress of medical knowledge. The MUB contributes to large-scale research on genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, radiomics, and bioinformatics. In the course of implementing unique research projects in the field of personalised medicine and lifestyle diseases, we have built a database, remarkable in the European scale, containing the results of whole genome sequecing (WGS) of several hundred patients with oncological and other lifestyle diseases. The MUB pioneers in the field of advanced banking of biological material from patients with lifestyle diseases. The collected data is fed to the Polish HD Medicine Database, designed as a source of in-depth understanding of the mechanisms of such health concerns as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic diseases and more, and as groundwork for the development of new therapeutic applications.
