POLISH SCIENCE DAY AT THE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF BIALYSTOK

The Museum of the History of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Medical University of Bialystok is the first to celebrate the Polish Science Day. On this occasion, together with the Association of Academic Museums, we are presenting an exhibition on the academic heritage of Polish universities. The purpose of the project is to make the public aware of the importance of the academic heritage as an important highlight of the national identity.
The exhibition entitled: “Academic Museums for Independence” presents the scientific achievements of Polish universities celebrating their anniversaries in 2019-2022. The year 2020 is particularly important from the perspective of the history of the Medical University of Bialystok, which celebrates its 70th anniversary.
The “Academic Museums for Independence” exhibition is a part of the project under the same title, co-funded  by the Multiannual Program “Niepodległa” (Independent Poland) for 2017-2022 as part of the "Niepodległa" Grant Program.
The exhibition can be seen in the Branicki Palace lobby from February 19th to March 15th, 2020.
"According to the Act, the Polish Science Day should be an expression of recognition for the achievements of Polish scientists. The date of the annual celebration is February 19th - the birthday of Nicolaus Copernicus, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the field of astronomy. The Polish Science Day is an inspiration to follow in the footsteps of Polish researchers and to promote scientific interests.”
