    DEPARTMENT OF REGENERATIVE MEDICINE AND IMMUNE REGULATION

     

    General Internal Regulations for Students

     

    1. The Regenerative Medicine course is carried out in the Collegium Pathologicum at the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Immune Regulation.

    2. Student is obliged to participate in all lectures and classes. Absence should be excused as soon as possible. It is demanded in the case of health reasons a medical certificate of temporary disability, and in the other cases a certificate of proper authorities.

    3. Student should have a theoretical basic knowledge of the current subject (based on the lectures) prior to the class. During every class Student’s knowledge might be evaluated based on short test (multiple choice questions). The minimum - 6 points (out of maximum 10) - is required to pass the short test. Passing of all short tests is mandatory in order to pass the course of Regenerative Medicine. Student has right to retake the short test in appointed time, but not later than within two weeks after the first term.

    4. During the last class every student is obliged to present an evaluation of their experiment, which was carried on the laboratory classes. Every student may obtain maximum 10 points – 2 points for each of the following: introduction, material and methods, results, conclusion and student’s contribution to the presentation. The minimum 6 points are required to pass the presentation. Passing the presentation is mandatory in order to pass the course of Regenerative Medicine.

    5. During short tests student may not consult any written materials or electronic devices. Moreover, student may not have verbal or non-verbal contact with any person other than teaching assistant. Any violations of these rules will be regarded as cheating and will result in failing of the short test.

    Laboratory Regulations for Students

     

    1. Students are allowed to be in the laboratory only in the presence of an assistant.

    2. Before entering the classes students are obliged to change shoes, switch off phone, pager and any audio devices, and leave coat, jacket etc. in the cloakroom. Moreover, during the classes student is required to wear a white laboratory coat.

    3. Student is obliged to obey the work safety and fire-control regulations. Before beginning the course student will be acquainted with them and must confirm it by signing.

    4. It is prohibited to smoke, drink, and eat anywhere inside the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Immune Regulation.

    5. During the classes it is forbidden to leave the teaching rooms without permission of the assistant.

    6. Every step of the experiment must be performed in nitrile/latex gloves.

    7. Students are obliged to take care of a teaching equipment.

    8. During the experiments students are obliged to follow the assistant’s instructions.

    9. Every substance in the laboratory is potentially dangerous. It is prohibited to taste any preparations and reagents.

    10. Take particular caution when handling concentrated acids, bases, poisons and flammable liquids

    11. In the case of burns to the skin, mouth or eyes, immediately wash the corrosive liquid with plenty of tap water and notify the tutor. Then, neutralize the acids with 5% sodium bicarbonate, and the bases with 1% acetic acid. Compounds used for neutralization can be found in the laboratory.

    12. Student must immediately inform the assistant about all accidents occurring at the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Immune Regulation during the classes.

    12. First-aid boxes can be found in the laboratory room.

    13. Before leaving the lab, the workplace, reagents and equipment should be put in order.
