    Internal Regulations

    1. The Regenerative Medicine course is delivered in the form of lectures and practical classes conducted in the research laboratory of the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Immune Regulation (Collegium Pathologicum), Medical University of Bialystok. Attendance at all forms of classes is mandatory.

    2. Any missed coursework resulting from a student's absence from classes must be supported by written justification. Acceptable forms of justification include a medical certificate (sick note), Dean-approved leave of absence, or a statement concerning an unforeseen event certified by the Dean. Students shall arrange the possibility and date of making up missed classes with another practical class group with the instructor responsible for that group or with the person responsible for the course.

    a) Students are required to make up any excused absence from classes on a date agreed upon with the practical class instructor. Making up a missed class with another practical class group is permitted only with the prior consent of the instructor responsible for that group.

    b) In exceptional circumstances, where participation in classes with another practical class group is not possible, an absence may be made up by preparing a topic assigned by the person responsible for the course and subsequently passing an oral assessment covering the assigned material.

    c) The final deadline for submitting the required medical certificate or written justification for an absence is the seventh day following the student's return to the University after the period of absence.

    d) Failure to submit the forms of justification for absence referred to in point 2(c), and failure to make up missed classes in accordance with the rules set out in points 2(a)–(b), shall result in failure to obtain credit for the respective practical class and, consequently, failure to obtain credit for the entire course.

    3. The requirements for obtaining credit for the course include active participation in the research component of the practical classes and preparation of a final multimedia presentation on a topic related to regenerative medicine. In exceptional circumstances, the course instructor may assess students' existing knowledge by means of a short entry test administered before the laboratory component of the class.

    a) Attendance required to obtain credit for the course is 100% and includes active participation in all three sessions comprising the practical class block.

    b) Each group of 8–10 students shall prepare a multimedia presentation on a topic related to regenerative medicine for the final session of the practical class block. Each student is required to be fully involved in preparing the final presentation. Student groups shall independently allocate responsibilities among their members, including literature and material searches, preparation of multimedia materials, development of the presentation content, and delivery of the presentation during the final practical class.

    c) Presentation topics shall be made available for students to choose from within seven days of the first session of the practical class block. Each topic may be selected only once during a given academic year. Presentations must be prepared in multimedia format and must not exceed 7 minutes.

    d) Entry tests may be administered before each laboratory class. The form of the entry test (oral or written) shall be determined by the class instructor. A minimum grade of satisfactory (3.0) is required to pass the entry test. Students who fail an entry test are required to retake it. One retake is permitted, at a time and in a form determined by the instructor.

    e) Students shall be informed whether they have successfully completed the entire course during the final session of the practical class block, following the presentation and discussion of the assigned topics.

    4. Students have the right to review their written work (entry tests) at a time specified by the practical class instructor or the person responsible for the course.

    5. Students may be informed of their entry test results during subsequent classes or within seven days following the final practical class, in a manner ensuring compliance with personal data protection regulations. The results shall also be available directly from the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Immune Regulation.

    6. If a student is found to possess or use any unauthorised form of assistance, the student's colloquium, entry test, or other assessment shall be immediately discontinued. The Rector shall be notified of the incident for the purpose of initiating disciplinary proceedings and, where justified, the relevant law enforcement authorities may also be notified of a suspected criminal offence. Discontinuation of the assessment shall result in a failing grade, with no possibility of taking any subsequent retake or resit assessment, including an examination before an examination board. Detailed provisions concerning unauthorised assistance are set out in the University Study Regulations and the relevant Rector's Order.

    7. Students are required to inform the person responsible for the course of any health-related contraindications that prevent them from participating in classes, where such contraindications exist. The rules governing the possible completion of practical classes where participation is not possible are specified in point 2 of these Regulations.

    8. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements for Regenerative Medicine classes conducted at the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Immune Regulation:

    a) Participation in the OHS training provided during the first session of the practical class block is a prerequisite for participation in the practical classes. Students are required to confirm their participation in the OHS training by personally signing the relevant declaration.

    b) During practical classes, students are required to wear a protective laboratory coat, appropriate change of footwear, and protective gloves (latex or nitrile).

    c) Students are required to strictly comply with all OHS regulations and to remain in the practical classroom/laboratory throughout the class. Any deviations from these rules or any uncertainties must be discussed with the practical class instructor.

    9. In matters not regulated by these Regulations, the provisions of the Medical University of Bialystok Regulations for Master's Degree Programmes shall apply.

    10. The person supervising the laboratory classes and responsible for the teaching of the course is Assoc. Prof. Kamil Grubczak, MD, PhD.
