Detailed topics of Pediatrics Labs  (20 hours):

1. Endocrinology. Disorders of sexual differentiation causes, diagnosis and therapeutic options. What should young doctor know? (5 h)

2. Diabetology. Practical classes in pediatric diabetology:  a) screening tests for complications and additional diseases, b) insulinotherapy modification with pens and pumps, c)  treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis and hypoglycaemia (5h )

3. Cardiology. Syncopes – symptoms, reasons, treatment. Cardiology diagnostics of a child with consciuousness disorders (5  h)

4. Cardiology. Cardiac insufficiency in children. Reasons, symptoms, treatment. Analysis of clinical cases. (5 h)

SOLVING OF PRACTICAL CLINICAL PROBLEMS  - SMINARS - 4 hours

Program of practical clinical problem solving -SEMINARS  (order of topics to prepare):

1. Secondary hypertension in children (1 h)
2. From hyperglycaemia to diagnosis. Differental diagnosis of diabetes in children (1 h)
3. ECG – physiology and pathology in pediatrics (1 h)
4. Pediatric cardiology – cases (1 h)

To PASS Pediatric Classes, a Student must:

To attend all clinical labs, and practical solving of clinical problems classes (PSCP) conducted by each of the pediatric departments (taking into account e-learning): Only justified absence (see: Regulations) from clinical lab all with obligation to work the absence out. Student having justified absence is entitled to an individual completing of the practical classes and seminars, preferably with another group (or, if not possible, in another mode determined by the head of the department).
