    Internal Regulations for Students

All activities in the Pharmacology course are subject to the UMB rules as described in

Rules of Study available at http://bip.umb.edu.pl/uchwala/103/uchwala-nr-38-2016

    Course structure and organization:

The course is divided into 4  Modules: Module I & Module II (5th semester), Module III & Module IV (6th semester). Each module concludes with a Module Test (Quiz). In the program there are 40 hours of lectures, 10 hours of seminars and 70 hours of practical classes.

At the end of each Module, there is a Module TestQuiz (test with 1 correct answer) which is evaluated according to the following scale:

    - failed < 60% (correct answers or total points)

    - satisfactory – 60-69%

    - fairly good – 70-79%

    - good – 80-89%

    - more than good - 90-95%

    - very good > 96%

A failed quiz can be retaken only once.

    Classes and lectures

    1. Classes and lectures are held in departmental classrooms according to the terms which are listed on the notice board and the website https://www.umb.edu.pl/enich/s,5146/Regulations

    2. Students are required to attend all lectures, classes and seminars at the scheduled dates and to be ready to discuss scheduled topics and/or to write a short test. Students will be required to sign an attendance register.

    3. Students are requested to change shoes before entering the Department of Pharmacology. Overcoats should be left in the cloakroom

    4. Eating is not allowed during classes or lectures. Drinking water is fine.

    5. Students are not allowed to use cameras or mobile phones and taking photographs during classes or lectures.

    6. Absences from classes, seminars and lectures must be justified no later than at the next scheduled class, and a copy of the document (medical certificate, dean's leave, etc.) should be left at the department. Students who are absent from classes must complete the exercise in written form within 2 weeks (short written test on topic related to the last class). A failed exercise can be retaken only once.

    7. Unjustified absences cannot be made up. It is the student’s responsibility to meet with his or her assistant or department secretary the day he or she returns to class.

    8. Students who have no unjustified absences are eligible to take the Module Test. The condition for passing the Module Test is to achieve a 60% score in correct answers. A failed Module Test can be retaken only once, and the deadline for retaking it should be set within 2 weeks of announcing the results.

    9. Students who did not pass due to a prolonged and justified absence lasting up to 4 weeks may, with the department head's approval, be granted a deferred pass.

    10. Written exams, after being checked and graded, are made available to the students.

    The final examination

According to the internal rules if you failed/missed any of the 4 Module Tests you are not eligible to take the final exam. This means that you have failed the course.

In order to be eligible to take Final exam students must:

    • be present at all classes, seminars and lectures
    • pass all 4 Module Tests and all classes

The final examination will consist of a multiple-choice test with only one correct answer per question. The exam is evaluated according to the same scale as Module Tests. All exams will be evaluated according to the same scale as module tests
