Ultramodern teaching facilities
In 2026, the University’s teaching facilities for the nursing programme were enhanced with an ultra-modern Nursing Simulation Centre, funded under the National Recovery Plan, where practical sessions are held during the course.
At the Centre, students practise basic and advanced nursing procedures before performing them on patients. The Centre combines the teaching of individual nursing procedures with the conduct of complex clinical simulations. It enables students to progress gradually from practising basic procedures on training manikins and anatomical models to making independent decisions and working as part of a team in realistic clinical situations. Training manikins, anatomical models and patient simulators of different genders and ages – ranging from newborns and children, through adults, to elderly patients – are used for teaching. This enables students to learn how to assess a patient’s condition, make decisions, carry out procedures and collaborate as part of a team.
The CSP has 12 rooms dedicated to practical skills training, conducting clinical simulations and organising OSCE examinations.
Six rooms are primarily used for learning and refining basic and advanced nursing procedures in low- and medium-fidelity simulation settings. These are:
- 4 technical skills laboratories;
- 2 nursing and midwifery skills laboratories.
A further 6 rooms are mainly designated for high-fidelity simulations. These include:
- 3 high-fidelity rooms for providing nursing care to adult patients, including rooms specialising in internal medicine, surgical-internal medicine and surgery;
- a paediatric care room;
- an operating theatre;
- an intensive care unit.
The rooms have been designed to reflect the real-life working conditions of nurses in hospitals and other areas of the healthcare system.
Students also have access to two debriefing rooms, one of which can be used as a virtual reality laboratory.
All rooms, with the exception of the nursing and midwifery skills laboratories, are equipped to conduct Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE).
The rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, including hospital beds, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, ECG machines, ventilators, infusion pumps, suction units, oxygen therapy equipment and operating theatre equipment.
