The evening began with the "Name that tune" competition, in which anyone who guessed the song could win double invitations to the Helios cinema.

 

The official part was opened by our new Vice-Dean for Development and Medical Education in English, Professor Marcin Baranowski who later gave an impressive performence of his own with the song "I Don't Wanna Be Me" by Type O Negative

 

 

With our Jury's decision the winners of our karaoke competition were:

 

Solo Category: 
1. Mrinelle Santiago (India) - Skyfall by Adele
2. Samali Weerasekera (Sri Lanka) - Shallow by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper
3. Aleksandra Grądzka (Polska) - Let's Get Loud by Jeniffer Lopez

 

Group Category:
1. Marta Andyszewska, Julianna Roj-Rojewska (Poland) - Dżaga by Virgin
2. Antonio Lasorsa, Tosca Maria Grazia Daversa, Giacomo Brugnone, Wiki Carbone (Italy) - Sarà perchè ti amo by Ricchi e Poveri
3. Zuzanna Borowska, Stanisław Busiński (Poland) - Dani California by Red Hot Chilli Peppers. 

 

The Audience award  was granted to Marta Andyszewska and Julianna Roj-Rojewska for their passionate performance of "Dżaga" by Virgin.

 

After the end of the competition and the awarding of prizes, we had a short "free mic" session and then we smoothly moved on to joyful dancing.
