    Bialystok and surroundings

    For centuries, Bialystok was a city on the border between the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The region was marked with routes used by Polish kings and dukes to travel to their residences in Vilnius or Grodno. Nowadays, the region prides itself on beautiful and unique nature and multicultural heritage.
