The USMLE, or United States Medical Licensing Examination, is a 3-step exam that, if passed, results in a license to practice medicine in the United States; however, taking it in Poland is not possible.

An excellent complement to traditional study for this exam is the use of the UWorld USMLE Step 1 Qbank learning platform. The university decided to pilot the purchase of a year's access to this platform for 10 international students. Codes were awarded to students according to the criterion of their grade point average for the previous academic year. At the end of the subscription, an evaluation will be conducted on the basis of which decisions will be made on whether to continue or expand access in the future.

The educational platform offers preparation for the first, theoretical part of the exam (step 1), where medical knowledge and the ability to apply concepts to medical practice are tested. With access, the student has access to the platform's resources, including, among others, carefully selected materials, sample questions, tables, charts and other graphic forms.

The purchase of access to the UWorld platform was financed as part of the project entitled 'Knowledge without borders. Access to prestigious electronic global knowledge resources as a pillar of modern education'.

It is worth mentioning that, thanks to NAWA funding, as part of the above project from 01.10.2024, MUB has provided its students and staff with access to other e-learning platforms: AccessSurgery and AccessEmergencyMedicine, and the BrowZine e-journal browsing application

Project funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange as part of the Welcome to Poland Programme (2023).
