The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange has announced the list of projects funded under the “NAWA-MSCA Network”. Among the projects that received funding was a project co-created by the Medical University of Bialystok pt. “ MSCA4EAST Comprehensive support for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions in the macro-region of Eastern Poland”. The project received funding of 1,178,900.00 PLN, of which 389,042.00 PLN went to the MUB. The MUB staff – Sylwia Klepacka and Jakub Wszeborowski from the International Cooperation Department and Maria Szlachta from the Development and Evaluation Department were actively involved in the preparation of the project proposal.
The project aims to enhance internationalization and strengthen the potential of higher education and science institutions in Eastern Poland through comprehensive support for activities related to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions program as a part of the Horizon Europe programme for 2025-2027. This initiative will provide the scientific community with sustainable support in securing funding and building international research relationships. In the consortium, in addition to the MUB, there are two other universities i.e., Białystok University of Technology (leader) and Marie Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (partner). All these entities will represent the Eastern Poland macroregion, which will include the Lubelskie and Podlaskie voivodeships.
The projects include the following activities:
- Establishment and development of 2 contact points for MSCA (in Lublin and Białystok) conducted in both stationary and remote forms, which will provide consulting services for scientists from the Podlaskie and Lubelskie voivodeship macroregion;
- Organizing training, workshops, and webinars with the participation of national and international experts to increase the competences of the staff
- Organizing match-making, pitching, and networking events to facilitate connections with international partners;
- Promotion of successful MSCA projects through the preparation of promotional materials, films, case studies, and inspirational stories;
- Creating an online platform that will provide access to knowledge bases, information materials, e-learning tools, and a forum for exchanging experiences.
The NAWA-MSCA Network programme is financed by the European Union from the European Fund for Social Development 2021 - 2027 (FERS) under the project entitled: 'Support for higher education institutions and science in serving foreigners and Poles going abroad', No. FERS.01.05.IP.08-0003/24 (FERS Projects).
