    The Swiss government is offering four scholarships for Polish citizens for the 2026/2027 academic year. The scholarship programme covers research stays, doctoral studies and postdoctoral scholarships – each in any field.

    The scholarship can be used in the form of:

    • A research stay – the condition is to obtain a master's degree before 31 July 2026 – for candidates at ETH Zurich – 30 June 2026

    • Doctoral studies for young (born after 31 December 1990) graduates of master's studies – the condition is to obtain a master's degree before 31 July 2026 (for candidates for ETH Zurich – 30 June 2026)

    • Postdoc – no age limit – doctoral degree obtained after 31 December 2022 and before 31 July 2026, for ETH Zurich – 30 June 2026

    Basic information about scholarships:

    • duration: 12 months (or 3 years for doctoral studies)

    • knowledge of French, German, Italian or English required

    • confirmation of admission by the selected foreign institution required

    Recruitment rules:

    To apply for a Swiss government scholarship, you must register in the NAWA system (available from October this year). Those who meet the formal criteria will receive Swiss forms with explanations by e-mail to fill in.

    Detailed information is available from the Swiss Embassy in Warsaw. The contact person is Ms Agnieszka Arzt, agnieszka.arzt@eda.admin.ch

    Additional comments on completing applications:

    • documents must be arranged in the order specified in the instructions;

    • in the case of documents with translations, the translation should be placed first, followed by the translated document;

    • diplomas should be arranged from the most recent to the oldest, i.e. first the doctoral degree, then the master's degree, and then the bachelor's/engineering degree;

    • it is necessary to attach transcripts of grades from the course of study (supplements to diplomas) - this also applies to doctoral studies. If there were no grades, an appropriate statement should be attached to avoid additional explanations or the application being classified as incomplete;

    • Documents should not be stapled or bound (only certified translations may be stapled/bound; the rest of the documents should be separated as necessary).

    • Do not put documents in plastic sleeves, folders or binders.

    • Letters of recommendation should be placed in sealed envelopes – one copy of each of the two required letters is sufficient.

    • Sign the application form and research plan.

    • Do not use the Europass CV template.
