We are delighted to announce that the Medical University of Bialystok has once again been included in the prestigious Shanghai Ranking (Global Ranking of Academic Subjects)! Our university is among the best in the world in two categories:

Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences – as one of three universities in Poland, MUB ranked 301-400, ex aequo with the Jagiellonian University. The Medical University of Lublin (401-500) was also included in this category.

Human Biological Sciences – MUB ranked 301–400 and is one of three Polish universities distinguished in this category, alongside the Wroclaw Medical University (201–300) and the Pomeranian Medical University (401-500).

The Shanghai ranking is one of the most recognized rankings in the world. It evaluates universities on the basis of, among other things:

· Scientific output – the number of articles published in industry journals, reflecting research activity.

· Impact of research – through the Category Normalized Citation Impact (CNCI) index, which determines the citability of publications.

· Best publications – the presence of articles in the most prestigious journals, such as Nature and Science.

· International cooperation – the percentage of publications co-authored with scientists from abroad.

· Awards and distinctions – the presence of winners of the most important scientific awards, such as the Nobel Prize or the Fields Medal, among the staff.
