The Medical University of Białystok is consistently expanding its international cooperation by establishing a partnership with the O.V. Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine – one of the leading research institutions in the field of biochemistry.
The signed agreement on scientific and technical cooperation opens up new opportunities for the development of joint research initiatives, particularly in fields such as biochemistry, molecular biology and biotechnology. The document provides for partnership-based, equal cooperation founded on the exchange of knowledge, experience and scientific resources.
The cooperation will be implemented through a variety of activities, including the organisation of joint research projects, conferences and seminars, as well as the exchange of research staff and scientific information. A key element of the agreement is also the possibility of initiating new forms of cooperation, tailored to current trends in scientific development and the needs of both institutions.
The conclusion of the agreement represents a natural continuation of the existing scientific contacts between the partners, which have already yielded tangible results in the form of joint research and publications. The new formal framework will allow for the further deepening of relations and the development of more advanced projects, including international and interdisciplinary initiatives.
The signed agreement is part of MUB’s internationalisation strategy and the strengthening of its position as an active participant in the European and global research landscape. Cooperation with the Ukrainian partner will contribute to creating new development opportunities for researchers and PhD students, fostering the exchange of experiences and the building of lasting academic relationships.
The O.V. Palladin Institute of Biochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU) in Kyiv is one of the most important centres for biochemical research in Ukraine. It was founded in 1925 in Kharkiv by Prof. Oleksandr Palladin and has played a significant role in the development of neurochemistry and functional biochemistry. It currently conducts advanced research into, amongst other things, the molecular mechanisms of biological processes, enzymology and medical biochemistry. Official NASU materials emphasise that the institute’s research results are of a ‘world-class standard’ and cover, amongst other things, metabolic regulation, neuroimmunology and nanobiotechnology.
