On May 25-26 2026 PhD students of the Doctoral School participated in classes conducted by Prof. Marie-Laure Kottler-Missonnier "Organization and diagnostics of rare genetic diseases in France".

Professor visited the Medical University of Bialystok at the invitation of Prof. Sławomir Wołczyński, Head of the Department of Reproduction and Gynecological Endocrinology, who invited her to Bialystok.

The participants learned about the organization of rare disease diagnostics in France and modern methods of genetic diagnostics. The discussions covered the importance of genome sequencing and the role of interdisciplinary cooperation in the diagnostic process, including the functioning of MDT expert teams.

Prof. Anna Moniuszko-Malinowska, Vice-Dean for Science and Evaluation, thanked Professor Kottler for accepting the invitation and for the opportunity to share her knowledge and long-term experience gained in French centers specializing in the diagnostics and treatment of rare diseases.

The classes provided a valuable opportunity for the PhD students to broaden their knowledge on the diagnostics of rare diseases and to explore this subject from the perspective of an outstanding specialist in the field.
