On 9 June 2026, another of the scheduled meetings of the international ‘OneTick’ project consortium (An Integrated One Health Approach for Prevention, Detection and Treatment of Tick-Borne Diseases in Urban and Peri-Urban Environments) took place. The meeting aimed to summarise activities to date, monitor progress in the implementation of work packages, and discuss current administrative and scientific matters.

As the coordinator of the project, which is being carried out under the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA SE), the Medical University of Białystok keeps a close eye on developments, ensuring the smooth exchange of information between European partners.

    Working meeting of project partners

The videoconference was attended by representatives of the institutions forming the consortium, including researchers from Hungary (iBioscience Kft.), Denmark (Rigshospitalet), the Czech Republic (Biologické centrum AV ČR), Norway (Sørlandet Sykehus HF), Sweden (Södertörns Högskola) and Germany (Freie Universität Berlin).

Our university was represented by a team comprising: prof. dr hab. Anna Moniuszko-Malinowska, Dr Michał Burdukiewicz, Jakub Wszeborowski, Maria Rutkowska and Marta Jemieljańczuk (Project Administration Officer).

Status of task implementation and exchange budget

During the meeting, the schedule and budget for the planned academic exchanges (so-called secondments) were reviewed; the total number of these amounts to 90 person-months of research for the entire consortium.

MUB plays a key role in this area – researchers from our university will carry out the most, as many as 35 person-months of research trips abroad. Over a quarter (26.67%) of all exchanges in the project will be interdisciplinary (cross-sectoral).
