On August 3–4, 2026, the Medical University of Bialystok hosted a two-day training course titled “Advanced Techniques in Biobanking and Biomedical Research”. This was already the fourth training course organized as part of the second round of specialized international courses under the valuEU project. The event brought together students and staff from partner institutions: the University of Cantabria (Spain), University of Catania (Italy), Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (Portugal), and representatives from MUB.
The training was led by Dr. Anna Michalska-Falkowska – Deputy Director for Quality Management at the MUB Biobank, who delivered complex insights into modern biobanking and biomedical research in a remarkably clear and professional manner.
The schedule at the Branicki Palace featured a series of specialized lectures covering the role of biological samples in personalized medicine, new diagnostic technologies, data integration, and artificial intelligence applications in research.
A major highlight of the course was a guided tour of the MUB Biobank. International guests had the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at a modern research facility and see its core technology in action—including the advanced, fully automated Hamilton BiOS sample storage system.
