    Education Courses on Biobanking at MUB

    A three-day training course, titled “Biobanking Essentials: From Sample Collection to Data Management”, took place at the Medical University of Bialystok from the 2nd to 4th of September in 2026. 
    On the first day of the course, participants had the opportunity to listen to an opening lecture, outlining the importance of biobanking, as well as two other lectures, concerning i.a. quality standards, best practices in sample collection, preservation and storage techniques, and ethics in biobanking.
    The second day’s lectures focused on data management fundamentals, integration strategies, and data security. Afterward, participants toured the UMB Biobank and took part in a workshop designed to put the knowledge they had gained into practice. 
    During the third day, lectures covered subjects such as international biobanking networks and collaboration, global initiatives, funding opportunities, and the future of biobanking.
    After the course, a summary, certificate distribution and closure of the training took place. 
    Additionally, to conclude the event, those interested had the opportunity to visit the Medical University of Białystok Museum and Branicki Palace.
