The International Cooperation Department is pleased to announce that on October 12, 2026, the Medical University of Białystok will host Internationalization Day, co-organized by the National Agency for Academic Exchange and the Medical University of Białystok, under the title “Internationalization of Medical Universities—Challenges, Experiences, and Strategic Directions.”

What role should internationalization play in the development strategies of medical universities? How can the experiences of Polish universities help in building effective models of internationalization? What challenges are associated with creating an attractive educational offering for international students in the context of recruitment? What role does cooperation between the academic and scientific communities and government administration play in the internationalization of medical universities? The event will take place in the prestigious Aula Magna of the Branicki Palace and will be divided into two panel discussions. In the first panel discussion, “The Internationalization of Medical Universities—Perspectives from Universities, Academia, and the State,” representatives from medical universities, the academic and doctoral communities, and public administration will discuss the strategic dimension of internationalization. The discussion will also provide an opportunity to examine the relationship between the Higher Education Development Strategy and the National Internationalization Strategy, as well as to present the experiences and best practices of medical universities.

The second panel, “The Internationalization of Medical Universities—Developing Programs and Recruitment Challenges,” will focus on the practical aspects of educating international students. Panelists will discuss how to develop attractive academic programs, recruit international applicants, and address challenges related to the recognition and verification of foreign qualifications. Another important topic will be cooperation between universities and public institutions, including in the areas of consular processes and support services for international students.

The event will be attended by representatives of university leadership, government administration, the academic and doctoral communities, and experts specializing in the internationalization of higher education.

Białystok Internationalization Day will provide an opportunity to examine the specific nature of internationalization at medical universities—from both a strategic and practical perspective. Issues related to educational programs, the recruitment of international students, and the development of an international academic community will take center stage in the discussion.

The International Cooperation Department is responsible for coordinating and collaborating with NAWA, in close consultation with the Rector, Prof. Marcin Moniuszko, Ph.D., and the Dean, Prof. Tomasz Hryszko, Ph.D.
