On September 14–15, 2026, representatives of the Medical University of Bialystok (Mr Mateusz Szyc and Mrs Marta Jemieljańczuk from the International Cooperation Department) visited the Polytechnic University of Viseu (UPV) in Portugal. This two-day visit provided an excellent opportunity to explore and learn more about the Portuguese institution, as well as to strengthen cooperation between the two universities.

The first day of the visit began with a welcome meeting at the UPV Head Office, which allowed participants to get to know the university and its staff. Afterward, guests were given a tour of the main campus facilities, including the Multipurpose Complex, Student Halls, and the EUNICE Office.

The next item on the agenda was a visit to the Agrarian School, where particular attention was given to the fields of Food Engineering and Biotechnology.

During the second day, the MUB representatives toured the School of Health, learning about its key research areas. They were also asked to give a brief presentation about Internationalisation at MUB and participated in a discussion on potential opportunities for future cooperation between both institutions.

The day concluded with job shadowing at the International Relations Office at UPV, where the MUB representatives had an opportunity to observe the organisation and its day-to-day work.

This study visit to Portugal proved to have been a highly valuable opportunity to strengthen relations, exchange experiences and knowledge, and lay the groundwork for future cooperation between the two universities.
