Employees and doctoral students who meet the conditions to participate in the program have the opportunity to take part in international research travels (referred to as secondments) within the international  research project „OneTick: An Integrated One Health Approach for Prevention, Detection and Treatment of Tick-Borne Diseases in Urban and Peri-Urban Environments”.

Project implementation period: March 1, 2026 – February 28, 2030

The aim of the project is to broaden knowledge and increase effectiveness in the prevention, detection and treatment of illnesses transmitted by ticks, with a particular emphasis on urban and suburban environments. The project relies on the One Health approach, combining ecological, biomedical and public health perspectives. As part of this cooperation, international project partners provide complementary competences, facilitating the exchange of knowledge, unification of research methods, and creation of common standards across various scientific disciplines.  

What do we offer?
Eligible employees and doctoral students have the opportunity to take part in international research trips (referred to as secondment), which:

• Are fully funded by the projects,
• Enable participants to gain experience in renowned scientific centers and institutions,
• Support the development of research competences and international cooperation.

There are a total of 90 person-months of secondments planned , including at least 60 intersectoral exchanges. Travels can be planned flexibly. Please reach out for more information.

Recruitment for the trips within the 1st reporting period is open from March 1, 2026 to February 28, 2028. Available destinations include:

• Spain – Fundación Rioja Salud (FRS) – a public non-profit institution operating in healthcare sector and biomedical sciences – 1 month trip available (1 PM)
• Sweden – Södertörns Högskola – university – trips available for a total of 2 months (2 PM)
• Sweden – Jönköpings Län (Ryhov Hospital) – Jönköpings Region Hospital - trips available for a total of 4 months (4 PM)
• Denmark – Region Hovedstaden (Rigshospitalet) – the largest public and teaching hospital in Copenhagen – places fully booked.
• Hungary – iBioScience Kft. – a biotechnology company based in Pécs specializing in advanced Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics services – trips available for a total of 11 months

Thanks to participation in the project, you not only gain a meaningful experience but also actively participate in the development of modern methods of supervision and treatment of tick-borne diseases in Europe.
