Three young scientists from the Medical University of Bialystok received funding for their research in the competition NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTER MINIATURA 5.
- dr Piotr Andrzej Szoka received PLN 49 995 for the implementation of a scientific activity entitled "Effect of aerosol emitted by alternative nicotine delivery systems (electronic cigarettes, IQOS) on the functions of human monocytes - the role of epigenetic modifications".
- dr Marta Bruczko-Goralewska received PLN 49 500 for the implementation of the scientific activity entitled "Assessment of galectin expression in thoracic aortic aneurysm."
- dr Diana Dmuchowska received PLN 34 320 for the implementation of the scientific activity entitled "Biological intra-individual variability of the metabolomic profile of human ventricular fluid - preliminary studies".
In Poland more than 100 researchers from research centers will start preliminary and pilot studies, research internships and consultation trips thanks to funding from the National Science Center under the MINIATURA 5 competition. The planned activities amount to almost 4 million PLN.
Development and Evaluation Department is in charge of the administrative management of the MINIATURA grants.
The purpose of the MINIATURA competition is to support scientific activities leading to the preparation of a future research project planned for submission in NCN competitions or other national and international competitions. In its 5th edition, it was possible to obtain financing in the amount of 5 000- 50 000 PLN for scientific activities lasting up to 12 months.
