    MUB has concluded an agreement with the Institute for Reconstructive Sciences in Medicine (iRSM), Canada

    The Medical University of Bialystok has concluded a cooperation agreement with the Institute for Reconstructive Sciences in Medicine (iRSM), an internationally recognised research institute specialising in reconstruction of facial skeleton, based in Edmonton, Canada.

    The institute was founded in 1993. as a joint initiative of the University of Alberta, Covenant Health and Alberta Health Services. The main task of the Institute is to provide assistance to people born with lesions of the head and neck tissues and people after neoplastic disease treatment. Currently, iRSM is one of only three highly specialised head and neck reconstruction centres in the world. Many innovative reconstruction methods using technologically advanced materials and digital tools were invented in the Institute. Specialised team of doctors, dentists, physiotherapists and IT specialists responsible for computer-aided designing tries to provide patients with possibility to return to their normal lives by improving the aesthetics of deformed face.

    The aim of the agreement between MUB and the iRSM is implementation of joint research and development projects, as well as professional training in modern methods and techniques of patient treatment. On behalf of MUB, the person involved in the implementation of the cooperation is prof. dr hab. n. med. Teresa Sierpińska - Vice-Dean for Quality of Education, Study Programmes and the Division of Dentistry of the Faculty of Medicine with the Division of Dentistry and Division of Medical Education in English.

     

    International Cooperation Department makes every effort to conclude further international agreements with universities, clinics and hospitals from all over the world.  Our goal is to provide MUB students and employees with internships and apprenticeships in recognized foreign institutions, thanks to which they will be able to improve their qualifications and gain international experience.
