The International Cooperation Department informs that the Medical University of Bialystok has concluded a cooperation agreement with the University of Guelph from Canada. As a result of the agreement, there will be implemented a number of actions, including:
- participation in joint research projects and programmes;
- exchange of scientists, doctoral students, students, administrative staff for the purpose of teaching, seminars, research, training, internships and other joint activities;
- cooperation in the scope of publishing research results in relevant scientific journals;
- exchange of scientific and methodological information of interest to the parties.
The cooperation agreement was concluded for a period of 5 years. On behalf of the Medical University in Białystok, for cooperation will be responsible Prof. dr hab. Adam Krętowski – Rector and Prof. dr hab. Adrian Chabowski - Vice-Rector for Education.
University of Guelph is a Canadian public university located in the city of Guelph, Ontario. It was founded in 1964 as a result of the merger of several lower-level educational institutions, including the Ontario Agricultural College, which has been operating since 1873. It employs over 1,500 research and teaching staff and educates approximately 28,000 students. The university consists of seven faculties, i.e. College of Arts, College of Biological Science, Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics, College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, College of Social & Applied Human Sciences, Ontario Agricultural College oraz Ontario Veterinary College. In 2018, the University of Guelph was ranked 16th among the top 50 research universities in Canada. In addition, the University of Guelph received a five-star rating from Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), publisher of the annual World University Rankings.
So far, the representatives of MUB have already had the opportunity to cooperate with scientists who are employees of the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Guelph. Now it is the time to formalize cooperation and extend it to the entire university.
International Cooperation Department encourages to conclude further international agreements and arrangements and offers assistance in carrying out the applicable procedures.
