The International Cooperation Deprartment informs that another project has received funding under the "Welcome to Poland (call 2021)" Programme of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange for activities related to the internationalisation of the Medical University of Bialystok. NAWA granted funding for the project entitled. "Direction internationalisation. Integration of the international community of the MUB and strengthening the capacity to serve foreigners". The University received a grant of PLN 387,184.97. The project was prepared by the International Cooperation Department in close cooperation with prof. dr. hab. Tomasz Hryszko – Rector's Plenipotentiary for International Cooperation. In the latest call (2021), MUB was the only medical university to receive funding for two projects.

It is worth mentioning that the Medical University of Bialystok is the biggest beneficiary of the NAWA "Welcome to Poland" programme among all Polish universities. Our university has received funding for projects under this programme in all the calls organised so far (2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021). In each of them, the university received funds for the implementation of two projects, which means that the "Direction internationalisation" is already the eighth funded project in the series "Welcome to Poland", prepared by the International Cooperation Department of MUB. The total funding of activities aimed at increasing the capacity to serve people from abroad under these eight projects is almost PLN 3.3 million.

The project will be implemented in the period May 2022 – April 2023. As part of the project, various tasks are planned to increase the level of internationalisation of the Medical University of Bialystok. Implemented activities will include, among others:

    - Expansion of the bilingual labelling system of the MUB campus, including labelling of new buildings of the university (Collegium Floridum, Biobank, Molecular Imaging Centre) and updating current labels.

    - Organisation of training on intercultural negotiations in practice for 10 university employees.

    - Preparation of English student calendars for the academic year 2022/2023 and translation of teaching materials into English (400 pages).

    - Organisation of "Welcome to Bialystok - II International Sightseeing Day", i.e. the next edition of the International Sightseeing Day (this time it is planned to visit Bialystok and Supraśl).

The Medical University of Bialystok is consistently implementing its internationalisation strategy, and the co-funded project will be an important step towards its full implementation.
