The agreement with Klaipėda University concerns cooperation in the following areas:
- joint and / or multilateral scientific activity, participation in various projects and programs;
- exchange of teachers, scientists, doctoral students, students, administrative staff for teaching, conducting seminars and lectures, research, training, student internships and other joint activities;
- cooperation in the field of publishing research results in relevant scientific journals of both parts of the agreement and exchange of scientific literature and educational materials.
On behalf of the Medical University of Bialystok, the unit responsible for implementing the agreement is the Faculty of Health Sciences and the coordinator for cooperation is dr Agnieszka Genowska.
This is the third agreement with the universities in Lithuania. Previously, bilateral agreements were signed with the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University and Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (formerly Kaunas University of Medicine). Both of these agreements were signed in 2003.
The University of Klaipeda was founded in 1991. The university has 4 000 students, and almost 35 000 people have obtained the diploma of this university. Every year, the University carries out over 60 international and national research projects.
