    „School of Academic Tutors” has started

    The first edition of the "School of Academic Tutors" has started at the Faculty of Pharmacy. The aim of the project is the effective recognition of the student's potential, discovering its strengths and talents, improving the student-teacher relation, and at the same time strengthening the authority of the academic teacher.

    The School of Academic Tutors serves for the preparation of academic teachers and promoters for effective individual work with students. The aim of the training is to obtain the authorization to develop and implement systemic tutoring of academic teachers at our University. The educational effect of the training is learning the assumptions of personalized education in the context of tutoring, as well as learning to use academic tutoring tools (tutorial essay, case study), using coaching tools to build motivation and implement individual educational projects. The essence of the school is also to learn how to deal with difficult situations in tutorial work and familiarize with the process of implementing tutoring at the university.

    Training should be practical and focused on the development of tutors' competences. The School of Academic Tutors has the form of an interactive workshop with elements of mini-lectures additionally enriched with issues related to motivation and management of educational projects. The training also provides for the use of a number of didactic methods, including: the Harvard method - case study, team work, practical exercises (training) and moderated discussion.

     

     

    The trainings of the "School of Academic Tutors" include academic teachers with at least the scientific degree of a doctor from two Faculties: Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Health Sciences. The training is carried out within the framework of "Integrated Development of Education Quality Program at the Medical University of Bialystok", co-financed from the European Social Fund under the Operational Program Knowledge Education Development, Priority axis III. Higher education for economy and development, action 3.5 Comprehensive programs of higher education. The coordinator of the "School of academic tutors" on behalf of the Medical University of Bialystok is dr hab. Michał Tomczyk, deputy dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
