    March Brown Bag Meeting with ImPRESS Doctoral Students

    On March 31, 2022 at the MUB`s Aula Magna Hall, took place another of the series of monthly meetings with PhD students employed in the ImPRESS project, "International, interdisciplinary doctoral studies in medical biology and biostatistics. Training in research based on large-scale technologies and biostatistics, and supporting the career of young scientists through mobility international and intersectoral ", co-financed by the Ministry of Education and Science and the European Union Framework Program for research and innovation Horizon 2020 under the activities of Maria Skłodowska-Curie COFUND.

     

    The participants were welcomed by the Head of the ImPRESS Doctoral Studies, Vice-Dean for Science at the Faculty of Medicine, prof. dr hab. Anna Moniuszko-Malinowska.

    At the meeting, we hosted Michał Dobrowolski and Jakub Wszeborowski from the MUB’s International Cooperation Department, who talked about the possibility of obtaining external grants: the Bekker and the Walczak Programmes. Students also received useful information on applying for grants financed by Polish institutions - PRELUDIUM (NCN). Moreover, all of them were invited to participate in the Workshop for Applicants, which will be held on 11th May in Białystok during the Days of the National Science Center (11-12.05.2022).

    In the next part, prof. Moniuszko-Malinowska, presented PhD students with the possibility of extending employment and studies under the ImPRESS project. PhD students who want to take advantage of this opportunity will be able to apply to an open and transparent call which will be announced at the end of April this year.

    The Vice-Dean explained the participants the option of writing a doctoral dissertation in the form of a monograph and described what this “big book” should look like.

    Urszula Ullmann from the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Medicine told the students about the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).

    Finally, administrative issues were raised reminding the doctoral students about: submitting PIT37, the necessity of submitting all applications and settlements on time, and the obligation to include the ImPRESS funding clause in all their publications.
