    Prof. dr hab. Robert Flisiak received the "Urbi Meritus – Distinguished for the City" medal

    Prof. Robert Flisiak was awarded the "Urbi Meritus – Distinguished for the City" medal, awarded by the President of Białystok, Tadeusz Truskolaski. The event was one of the elements of the Bialystok City Days.

    Ten people and one city received on Saturday (June 25) the Honorary Distinction of the President of Białystok "Urbi Meritus - Distinguished for the City ". It was presented by Tadeusz Truskolaski for the first time in the history of Białystok. The winners are social activists, entrepreneurs and people who promote Białystok in a special way. It was established in January 2022 and will be awarded every year to people, institutions or organizations of particular merit to Białystok.

    - This year it was life that decided who will be the winner - said the president during the awards ceremony.

    Prof. Robert Flisiak was awarded for his great commitment to the fight against the Covid 19 pandemic and the invaluable help for the inhabitants of Białystok during the most difficult time.

    Prof. Flisiak is a doctor, academic teacher and head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Hepatology. During the pandemic, he was an important voice in the discussion on covid treatment and prevention.
