We are proud to announce that the Medical University of Białystok has been ranked for the first time ever in the prestigious Shanghai Ranking (Global Ranking of Academic Subjects)! The university was listed as one of the best in the world in two categories:
- Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences - as one of two universities in Poland, MUB ranked, along with Jagiellonian University, in the 201-300 range. These are the highest rankings in Poland!
- Human Biological Sciences - MUB ranked in the 401-500 range and was included in this ranking as one of three Polish universities along with Jagiellonian University (401-500) and the Wroclaw Medical University (301-400).
The Shanghai Ranking is one of the most important and respected lists of world universities, which evaluates universities based on criteria such as:
· Research Output: Measures the number of research articles a university publishes in subject-specific journals, indicating productivity in that field.
· Research Influence: Assesses impact through the Category Normalized Citation Impact (CNCI), showing citation rates per paper adjusted by discipline.
· Top Journal Publications: Counts articles in top journals (e.g., Nature, Science), reflecting quality and prestige in subject-specific research.
· International Collaboration: Measures the proportion of papers co-authored internationally, showing the university’s global research connections.
· Academic Awards and Recognition: Counts staff with prestigious awards (e.g., Nobel Prizes, Fields Medals), highlighting institutions with highly influential scholars.
