Clinical Research Centre and Department of Endocrinology, Diabetology and Internal Medicine at the MUB conduct several research projects using genomic analysis which allows the identification, measurement and comparison of genomic features such as DNA sequence, structural variation, gene expression, or transcription regulatory mechanism. Following projects could be conducted by PhD students: a) Development of personalized cancer medicine based on integrated genomic, transcriptomic and epigenomic analysis; b) Searching for prospective and early biomarkers of type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes or obesity with use of next generation sequencing; c) Pathway analysis of metabolic syndrome using integrated genomic approaches; d) Integration of genomic analysis of microbiome for uncovering biomarkers of cancer.

PhD students will be involved in sequencing experiment as well as bioinformatics analysis of next generation sequencing data. Moreover, they will learn how to integrate complex omics data providing insight into disease processes.
