International Cooperation Office of MUB is intensively working on the creation of the myMUB mobile application dedicated to foreign students and guests of the Medical University of Bialystok. The application is being created in the English language version. It will be the first application designed to facilitate the start at the university for foreign students, among all universities in Białystok. Supervision over the creation of the application is directly exercised by the Rector's Plenipotentiary for International Cooperation - dr hab. Tomasz Hryszko.

The myMUB mobile application will be a tool meant to facilitate the functioning of English-speaking students, PhD students and scientists at the Medical University of Bialystok. Students, lecturers and guests from abroad often have problems with acclimatisation, especially in a country with a distinct cultural background. Launch of the myMUB mobile application is aimed at improving the comfort of studying of foreign students at MUB and comfort of the stay of foreign scientists and guests, as well as their quick integration with the entire MUB academic community. In particular, the application is meant to ease getting around the university campus and Bialystok for new students.

The application will contain 12 modules:

    1. University - containing information about the university, the Branicki Palace, as well as the tab regarding the recruitment process for English-language studies,

    2. Campus - a module created on the basis of Google Maps, with marked university buildings and service places (restaurants, hotels, photocopying points) located within the MUB campus. Each place will have a showcase containing basic data such as opening hours, address, phone number and e-mail address. The module will also include an option to navigate to the target place.

    3. Schedule – a day plan management tool integrated with the smartphone calendar,

    4. News – an information module that will publish the latest information from the life of the Medical University of Bialystok and important announcements,

    5. Guide – a comprehensive guide for new students or foreign guests, including contact details of MUB units that support foreign students, information on legalization of stay, security, healthcare in Poland, transport, as well as a Polish-English glossary with the most commonly used words and phrases,

    6. Welcome Centre – containing a list of matters that can be dealt with at the Welcome Centre, as well as the possibility of quick contact with employees managing the contact point for foreign students,

    7. Education – a kind of compendium of knowledge about English-language studies. Here, students will have the opportunity to check syllabuses, class schedules, study regulations, and easily contact the English Division Dean's Office,

    8. Emergency Numbers – a module for making emergency calls (112, 997, 998, 999),

    9. International Cooperation – a module which will describe, among others, MUB's international cooperation with other centres from abroad, as well as a procedure for applying for trips abroad in a nutshell.

    10. Bialystok – a module containing a brief description of the city and interesting places/monuments to visit, list of offices and sports facilities, as well as information about Podlasie,

    11. Exchange Rate – a solution that allows to easily convert the exchange rate from PLN to five foreign currencies (USD, GBP, EUR, NOK and SEK) or vice versa.

    12. About the app – a summary module that will include a description of the application, funding source, as well as a brief instruction on how to use the application.

The application will be ready before the start of the new academic year 2020/2021 and will be available for smartphones with both Android and iOS systems. The application can be downloaded from a dedicated homepage, as well as from Google Play and App Store.
